FRAME CARE

FRAME CARE

How to properly care for your framed specimens and ensure they last!

1: Avoid leaving your frame in direct sunlight, the UV rays can AND WILL fade the colours on the specimen and also the white backings, this also encourages humidity inside the frame. Say it with me, no sunlight!

2: In the unlikely but very possible event of mites/book lice, simply put the frame inside the freezer for 1-3 days to kill the little freaks. If you don’t address the situation, they will continue to eat your specimen from the inside out, you will first notice small dust looking bits on the bottom of the frame and then the colour will lose pigment

4: Keep out of high humidity areas like bathrooms and kitchens, humidity will very lkely lead to mold on the specimen. If mold occurs, a cotton bud with some Aceton on it should do the trick!

5: If you're not hanging it or displaying it, store the frame flat, face up in a dry, dark place.
